We've all been to the countless galleries...row after row...ruined out white linen and then wore it again. We hear all the hype and we go see yet another "undiscovered" talent that offers up their work for thousands of dollars. Yeh, that's so underground!
So, you think you know the underground art in this city? Well then, I offer you a challenge! Come to the Avenue Pub today and see what underground really is. The Avenue Pub is located at 1732 St. Charles Avenue in the Lower G. and though they are always open 24 hours a day, they're making special arrangements for NoLA Rising to generously host a special selection of NoLA Rising artists. From noon until late night there will be both an art show and an art auction.

The art show hosts such artists as ReX, The Man of a Thousand Faces, anthonyturducken, unknownparts, 32, E.T.D., Ellipses, Ronica Gala, Mardi Claw, VARG, Dru Jones 632, Taylor Shephard, Allison Termine and possible a couple of local undergrounds that we won't mention. Photography from Robin Walker, Gary Perez of Dragonfly, and Max Prophet. Jewelry by Clare Marie of Sin.Thesis...
NoLA Rising is also proud to have on hand the National Banner of Crabstonia on loan from the Crabstonian National Archives. We are always thankful to the People's Revolutionary Army of Krabkakes for their hard work. While the banner is not for sale, it is a must see for all cat lovers who are in the know.

The Art Auction has underground art not only from the deep bowels of New Orleans, but from all across the country and world. Most notable are pieces from Derek Hess, a Michalopoulos print, Steve "504 Whatstyle" Williams, Mardi Claw,

If you think you know art in this city, you'll be surprised about how much you don't know. Reasonably priced artwork is available from the next crop of artists and their pieces will be hanging for the next two weeks and are available Monday through Friday from ten until six or by arrangement with Claudia.
